Andrea Savage

If you have ever seen an awkward yet hot as fuck brunette performing in comedies around the 2010s, you may have come across Andrea Savage. She’s the kind of babe that has a certain look about her that you’d recognize without entirely knowing her name. But that’s okay!

Stay here on ThePornDude so you can learn all about the life and times of Andrea Savage! I know you’re going to enjoy what you find here! But first, let’s look at what life was like for Andrea Savage, including where she fucking grew up!

Growing up as Andrea Savage

Andrea Savage was born in Santa Monica, California, USA on February 1973. An only child, Andrea Savage by all accounts had a happy and healthy childhood. Being near one of the entertainment capitals of the world, Andrea Savage naturally gravitated towards show business.

“All through school I did plays and musicals,” said Andrea Savage in a 2017 interview with Parade Magazine. “But no one in my family is in the entertainment business. And I didn’t really know anybody in the entertainment business. I know that seems weird when imagining somebody growing up in LA. But I lived in a suburb in the Valley.”

Though she enjoyed acting, Andrea Savage was extremely focused on her academics. So, she decided to enroll at Cornell University. There, she earned a bachelor’s degree in government. But her love for acting was reignited while at Cornell:

“[I] always thought it would be an irresponsible thing to do,” said Andrea Savage in the same interview. “I had a lot of self-judgement for even considering it. It seemed like something silly. My junior year of college, I was studying in southern Spain and was alone a lot with my thoughts. I realized, I have to try this. But how am I going to tell my parents? It’s crazy, but I’ll just do it for a year. I told my college advisors and they thought I was insane. The advisor looked at me and said, 'When do you think you’re going to apply to business school?'”

As you can probably guess by now, that one year turned into a lifetime career in the entertainment business. But, how the fuck did Andrea Savage get her start in acting? Especially when she didn’t fucking know anybody?! Hold on you impatient mother fucker: I’ll get to that in a moment!

Andrea Savage turns to acting

Andrea Savage landed her first acting gig on the teen comedy drama Sweet Valley High in 1994. There, she played a Brazilian exchange student for approximately 22 episodes. In her own words, Andrea Savage thought she had overcome the hardest part about being an actress, and that work would start coming to her night and day:

“That show [Sweet Valley High] ended and no one cared. I was kind of starting from scratch again. Luckily I did okay in commercials, but then had to go back to waitressing.”

While working and paying her dues, Andrea Savage found her calling. She attended a performance at The Groundlings: a legendary improv group. And from then on, her life would never be the same again.

Andrea Savage finds her sweet spot

Almost immediately, Andrea Savage began performing weekly with The Groundlings. This placed her in the hot seat of what it took not only to perform comedic roles in an improvisational environment but also how to write, produce, and create. Pretty soon, she began to get regular roles.

One of those big roles came on the sitcom Significant Others in 2004. It lasted two seasons, and she then hopped on over to the improvisational show Dog Bites Man on Comedy Central in 2006. Her role as Tillie Sullivan earned her a role in the comedy classic Step Brothers, playing the role of Will Ferrell’s therapist.

This collaboration with Will Ferrell led to Andrea Savage working with his production company, Gary Sanchez Productions. She also went on a comedy tour with Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, and other comedians to much applause. Shortly after, Andrea Savage had her first child and took time off from performing.

Taking time off amidst a booming career may have hurt some actresses, but it did nothing to slow down Andrea Savage’s upward climb. In 2010, she appeared in the film Dinner for Schmucks based on the French film Le Diner de Cons, which is French for Getting Your Dick Sucked at a Dinner. Just kidding: the accurate title is The Dinner of Fools.

Andrea Savage’s career took off after Dinner for Schmucks. Though she wasn’t in any notable roles at the time, she nonetheless got regular work in mainstream comedies where she played an awkward, sometimes confident suburban 30somethings. This also led to her creating two pilots: The Strip for NBC and Wilfred for FX.

Andrea Savage begins popping up everywhere

Andrea Savage starred alongside Hilary Swank in the film You’re Not You. She also starred in the pilot for the cult classic Party Down. Though she continued to star in parts throughout the 2010s, she really began to appear all over the entertainment world via her writing for sitcoms.

Her impressive resume of writing credits began by writing various pilots for networks for the likes of Comedy Central, Fox, and NBC. But she also appeared in one-off appearances on popular sitcoms of the 2010s, such as Modern Family and The League. Around this time, Andrea Savage also starred in a Hulu original series called The Hotwives that parodies the reality TV series The Real Housewives of…. There were two seasons: The Hotwives of Orlando and The Hotwives of Vegas, with each of the actresses playing totally different characters from one season to the next. It was like an anthology series but for trash reality television.

Once she was finished with that funny as fuck reality series, she moved on to appear in the HBO comedy in 2016 Veep as Laura Montez: a Senator that becomes the President. During the filming of Veep, she appeared in that season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Andrea Savage was having one hell of an upswing in her career, but she wanted the best of both worlds: writing and starring in her own show.

So, she did just that with I’m Sorry. It’s somewhat of a biographical story for Andrea Savage. But she wanted it to be a completely different kind of comedy:

“I wanted to put a character on TV who you haven’t seen,” she said in a 2017 interview with Parade Magazine. “Some of them are almost word-for-word conversations I’ve had, so every single episode is really grounded in something real.”

It’s interesting that she used the word ‘grounded’ because much of the show’s material comes from her time at The Groundlings. Her husband in the show, Tom, is also based on her real-life husband. I’m Sorry is a blend of different eras for Andrea Savage, and it lasted for three bad ass mother fucking seasons!

Andrea Savage pivots to drama and beyond

After I’m Sorry, Andrea Savage was ready for something different. So she took the most prominent role of her career: the role of ATF agent Stacy Beale in the crime drama Tulsa King. Opposite Sylvester Stallone, Stacy Beale is not only trying to crack down on the local militia groups of Tulsa, Oklahoma, but also whatever the fuck Sylvester Stallone’s character is up to.

It’s a unique role that showcases what Andrea Savage is capable of as a performer. See the other places where you can find her:
