Lindsey Vonn

If you’ve ever seen a sexy as fuck blonde skier that looks like she could melt any ice cap on Earth, then you’ve been getting hard to Lindsey Vonn! This skier looks phenomenal on the slopes and barely wearing anything! Just check out her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Editions from the 2010s to see what I mean!

But before we get into how fucking sexy Lindsey Vonn truly is, let’s take a look at her origin story. Starting at the very beginning, we’re going to learn all about how she got to where she is today. It’s all here on ThePornDude, so keep fucking reading, prick!

Growing up Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA on October 1984, the oldest of five children. Her father was a former skiing champion, winning a national title before an accident ended his career at 18. From the time she was two years old, Lindsey Vonn was comfortable on a set of skis.

Originally trained by her grandfather, Lindsey Vonn’s father noticed she had a natural talent for the sport. Thus, her father pushed her from a very early age to be a competitive skier. At just the age of six, Lindsey Vonn’s father enrolled her with his old instructor, the world-renowned Erich Sailer.

Erich Sailer admits that Lindsey Vonn’s father pushed her pretty fucking hard to be her best. She continued, and eventually met her mentor, Olympic gold medalist ski racer Picabo Street. Picabo Street was so enamored by her natural talent, that he never forgot their original meeting.

“You can’t teach somebody to love the fall line like that little girl loved the fall line,” said Picabo Street in an interview with NBC in 2018. The ‘fall line’ Picabo Street refers to is a line on a mountain/hill that is the most downhill portion. This means that by following the line, gravity will push the skier downward as fast as physically possible.

Usually, this would scare small children like Lindsey Vonn was at the time. But according to Picabo Street, she fucking loved it and showed no fear whatsoever. This possibly marked the moment that Lindsey Vonn finally got serious about skiing professionally. With an Olympic Gold Medalist cheering her on, she had all the support she needed.

Lindsey Vonn gets serious about skiing

That includes her mother and siblings. Though Lindsey Vonn and her family lived in an area where there was plenty of snow (because Minnesota has an assload of snow!), it wasn’t the best place to ski, especially for someone who had world-class talents like Lindsey Vonn. So the family had to drive back and forth between Minnesota and the state of Colorado!

That’s around a 16-hour trip, and the family would go there during family vacations. The family would also go to another ski resort in Minnesota, but nothing was as kick ass as the resort in Colorado. So, they eventually moved to Colorado permanently.

While Lindsey Vonn was focusing on skiing, it was a huge sacrifice for the entire family. Her siblings had to move to Colorado and leave their lives behind for her career. She mentions that this made her feel guilty in hindsight, and she misses not having a typical childhood.

“I missed all the traditional things of childhood,” said Lindsey Vonn in an interview with The New York Times in 2020. “[I missed] sleepovers, school dances, [and] making friends in a conventional way.”

Lindsey Vonn also didn’t have a traditional education, either. She attended the University of Missouri High School, a remote program that allows children to get an education anywhere, anytime. She graduated, but her focus was always on skiing.

Lindsey Vonn goes pro

At just 15 years old, Lindsey Vonn, along with Will McDonald, became the first athlete from the US to win Italy’s Trofeo Topolino di Sci Alpino ‘Cadets’ slalom events. It was a historical moment for the two, and it further bolstered Lindsey Vonn’s rankings on the United States ski team. Like a goddamn comet, Lindsey Vonn ran through the ranks of the US Ski Team, winding up at the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup at just 16 years old.

That’s a huge fucking deal, too. The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the premiere skiing competition in the world, and for Lindsey Vonn to debut at such a young age is goddamn insane. Her success continued, leading her to compete in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. She didn’t win a medal, but she did score sixth place.

Lindsey Vonn wasn’t exactly happy with the results. The following year, she won a silver medal in the downhill slope competition at the Junior World Championship in Puy Saint-Vincent, France. Though one may assume that experience helped her to get there, it was a change in training regimen that truly helped Lindsey Vonn to get to that next level.

Her training changed completely by accident. Lindsey Vonn visited one of her fellow skiing competitors, Julia Mancuso at her home in California. Julia Mancuso invited her to go on a bike ride with her and her father, and they quickly left her miles behind. In Lindsey Vonn’s own words, the experience made her feel like a, ‘fool.’

“That bike ride was kind of one of her first awakenings that she had,” said Thomas Vonn, Lindsey Vonn’s ex-husband to Yahoo! Sports in 2010. “As an athlete, you kind of have these points where you realize what you’ve been doing probably wasn’t good enough and you need to do more. That was certainly one of those times where she was like ‘OK, Julia is my competition and she just dropped me on a bike ride. I have no chance against her. How am I going to beat her in a ski race? I’ve got to change something here.’ ”

Thus, Lindsey Vonn began to incorporate bike training into her normal workout routine. The strategy paid off, as Lindsey Vonn won the silver medal at the U.S. Alpine Championships at Girdwood, Alaska the following year in 2004. In fact, 2004 would prove to be one of her hottest years ever professionally.

Lindsey Vonn won a medal on the World Cup podium for the first time in 2004. But she would go on to place a staggering SIX additional World Cup podiums in the same year alone. It was safe to say that Lindsey Vonn was fucking going places – but it wouldn’t happen until a few years later.

Though Lindsey Vonn competed in the Winter Olympics in 2006, she had a serious crash during her second run. It was so bad that she had to be evacuated via helicopter. She came back and competed two days later, finishing eighth. The following year, she won the silver medal in downhill and super-G events at the 2007 World Championships.

By the time 2008 rolled around, Lindsey Vonn was ready to show the world what she was fucking made of once again. And she did, by winning the World Cup three fucking times in a row, winning her last consecutive in 2010. Without question, 2010 was her fucking year!

Lindsey Vonn wins gold

Lindsey Vonn entered the 2010 Winter Olympics, but she nearly missed out due to excessive pain. Fortunately, climate change moved the alpine skiing events to the following week, which gave Lindsey Vonn some to heal her wounds. It turned out to be the best thing to ever happen to her.

In her first event, Lindsey Vonn won the goddamn, mother fucking gold medal in the downhill event. She beat none other than Julie Mancuso, who had whomped her ass in a bicycle race almost a decade prior. She also won a bronze, solidifying her legacy as one of the United States’ top competitive skiers.

Lindsey Vonn’s retirement and what’s next

Though Lindsey Vonn tried to recreate her golden glory at the 2010 Winter Olympics throughout the decade, it unfortunately didn’t happen. She won the bronze medal in downhill at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. She also won several silver and bronze medals at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, her most recent win just a year before retirement.

On February 10, 2019, Lindsey Vonn announced that she was officially retired from competitive skiing. Since then, she has made some media appearances and even hosted a dog competition show for Amazon at one point. Here’s to hoping we get to see more of Lindsey Vonn, whether it’s on a set of skis, or in a bathing suit in paradise!
