Brooklyn Decker

You might have seen her in that 2011 rom-com alongside Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston titled Just Go With It, or you might’ve seen her star in that popular Netflix series Grace and Frankie - and there’s also the off-chance that you might’ve discovered Brooklyn Decker on the cover of a 2010 Sports Illustrated magazine issue. Regardless of how you discovered Brooklyn, it’s safe to say that she made your jaws drop the first time you laid eyes on her. Also, how you discovered her depends on your relationship status; if you first saw her in Just Go With It or on that aforementioned Netflix show then you were probably in a relationship and were watching that show or movie with your girlfriend.

If you were single though, then you most likely first saw Brooklyn on a Sports Illustrated cover. Either way, there’s no denying that Brooklyn Decker is one of the sexiest blondes ever to grace not only magazine covers but also the silver screen as well.

She’s one of the many actresses who transitioned from modeling to acting (which is evident by the fact that all the movies and shows that she has a main role in haven’t scored above “7” on IMDB) and managed to pull off a respectable run in the movie industry during the early-to-mid 2010s, which were her prime years. At the time of my writing this bio, she hasn’t appeared in any media for over 2 years, with the last thing she appeared in being Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, which is arguably what she’s known most for. But hey, you never know when she might unexpectedly appear on something popular again and surprise everybody with a comeback - but until then, we’re just going to have to imagine her pretty face instead of seeing it on the big screen, and speaking of pretty faces…

Initially, She Was Just A Pretty Face

Born on April 12, 1987, in Kettering, Ohio, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Brooklyn’s modeling career would kick off relatively early, as she (as well as all the natural beauty she comes with) was discovered as a teenager in a shopping mall. It’s safe to say that she got a lot of attention in high school, and went on to receive even more attention as she grew older thanks to her impressively early entry into the world of modeling. Her natural beauty and charisma made her a young aspiring model to look out for.

By the time she was in her early 20s (so we’re talking late 2000s), Brooklyn started to appear in ads for popular fashion brands, including Victoria’s Secret, The Gap, and so on. During that time she also started to grace the covers of various prominent magazines, most of which were centered around fashion. However, funnily enough, it wouldn’t be until she appeared on the cover of a non-fashion magazine (Sports Illustrated) that her fame would exponentially rise, as by the end of 2010, most people had learned about her.

She was practically the “it fashion girl” by the time she appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, which made her so famous that it literally allowed her to seamlessly transition from modeling to acting. Mind you, Brooklyn Decker embodies the skinny blonde girl archetype, and she got famous just a year or two before the Kardashians started taking over the celeb world, which marked the moment when the world suddenly stopped paying attention to skinny blondes and started obsessing over thick brunettes. That said, in a way, Brooklyn Decker is one of the last famous skinny pretty blondes of the 2000s.

After Featuring On The Cover Of Sports Illustrated Magazine In 2010, Brooklyn’s Career Skyrocketed

As was mentioned, after Brooklyn was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, her life started to change in ways she could’ve never predicted. It’s very common for models who become exponentially more famous in a short amount of time to start auditioning for movie roles, with some even having movie roles thrown at them - I mean just look at Gal Gadot. She went from model to Dominic Torreto’s temporary love interest in Fast Four to freaking Wonder Woman. And no, it’s not like her acting is Oscar-worthy or anything, but it’s just good enough to earn her leading roles in action blockbusters. The same thing happened with Brooklyn here - she was featured on the cover of this Sports Illustrated issue, and before you knew it, she appeared in an Adam Sandler movie, in a leading role mind you.

Brooklyn’s role as Palmer in 2011’s Just Go With It had her acting alongside people who’ve been in the entertainment industry since she was in kindergarten, including Jeniffer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, and Adam Sandler. Heck even Nick Swardson could school Brooklyn on acting, and he always seems to play the same old character with his funny mannerisms and humoristic on-screen presence. But hey, that’s not to say that Brooklyn is a bad actress, as her appearance in Just Go With It proved that she could hold her own when paired up alongside people who’ve been acting for over a decade longer than she has. Brooklyn even went on to star in other Hollywood flicks after Just Go With It in the years following, which again, is proof that even though she might not be an Oscar-worthy actress, she’s still capable of holding down a movie role.

Brooklyn Solidified Her Position As An Actress With Her Role In Grace And Frankie

After starring in Just Go With It, offers for roles in other movies and shows started flying at Brooklyn. She was basically starring in at least two or three movies every year during the first few years of the 2010s, including 2012 sci-fi action flick Battleship, 2014 action flick Stretch, and several rom-coms, such as What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Casual Encounters, Friends With Better Lives and so on. Rom-coms were more or less Brooklyn’s go-to genre, and she almost always played the part of hot girl in them, which as far as rom-coms typically tend to go, is usually an antagonistic role.

But despite starring in several movies throughout the mid-to-late 2010s, Brooklyn’s largest role would be for a Netflix show titled Grace And Frankie, a comedy that ran from 2015 to 2022 that revolves around two elderly married women who find out that their husbands are having sexual encounters with one another and try to cope with it. Brooklyn stars as the daughter of one of the two aforementioned elderly women in this show and appears in all 94 episodes of it.

What Do We Know About Her Personal Life?

Like most actors today, Brooklyn actively makes sure that paparazzi and other similarly nosy entities are barred from peeping too deeply into her private life and posting information to the public that she’d rather not have online. This also probably means that she doesn’t send nudes to her husband and likely doesn’t have any nudes of herself on her devices either, since we all know what went down when The Fappening event occurred back in the mid-2010s. That being said, what we do publically know about her private life is that she’s married to former professional tennis player Andy Roddick whom she has two kids. The couple married in 2009 after dating for two years, and in what is an admirably rare occurrence for a celebrity couple, haven’t split up, and are enjoying a now 15-year-long marriage.

I guess they aren’t technically a celeb couple since Brooklyn here’s the only celebrity, which is why they’ve managed to stay together for so long. And that’s pretty much it when it comes to Brooklyn’s private life - as was mentioned, she ensures that her private life remains private, so there really aren’t any juicy tidbits of saucy info to discover there. As for what the future holds for her, Brooklyn’s set to star in a show called The Runarounds, which is currently in pre-production, and will be based around a high school band that seeks success in the music industry after graduating.
