Charisma Carpenter

If you have ever watched any of the most popular supernatural television series of the late 90s, you’ve probably seen Charisma Carpenter on-screen. Even so, she’s been a mainstay in American television for decades. Hell, you may even be a fan and not even know it!

But before we dive into where you’ve seen Charisma Carpenter act and do her thing, let’s first focus on the early life of this sexy babe. See what growing up was like for Charisma Carpenter, and learn everything you never knew you wanted to know about her here on ThePornDude!

Growing up Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter was born July 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Her mother and father had interesting yet common careers. Her mother worked at a bird sanctuary, while her father was a typical salesman. Considering she grew up in a time when the mob ruled and owned Las Vegas, I’m sure her parents had interesting stories to tell when they returned home.

Charisma Carpenter discovered that she was talented as fuck at an early age. She began studying ballet at just five years old, then joined a performance troupe that sang and danced when she was only nine. This group traveled all across the metropolitan Las Vegas area, and it no doubt gave her a familiarity with being on the stage and having that presence every actor needs.

But she wasn’t destined to stay in Las Vegas her whole life. A few years after joining the troupe, the family moved to Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico. She still dreamed of performing, though, so she drove an hour away each way to attend the San Diego School of the Performing Arts until graduating high school.

Interestingly, once Charisma Carpenter graduated from high school, she didn’t really go into entertainment. She instead moved to San Diego and began working a series of odd jobs. Charisma Carpenter worked as a video rental clerk, a member of the San Diego Charger’s cheerleading squad, and other jobs so she could get enough dough to attend a university.

Charisma Carpenter was banking on an average, everyday career as an English teacher. But fate had other things in mind. While she was working odd jobs trying to save up for college, something unthinkable happened.

Charisma Carpenter nearly dies young

Charisma Carpenter and two friends were swimming on a San Diego beach when she was about 21. Henry Hubbard Jr., a 30-year “model” police officer and serial rapist, tried to take all three young people hostage. They weren’t having any of it, so they fought back, resulting in all three of them being shot point-blank.

Somehow, all three of them survived the attack. Thinking fast, Charisma Carpenter grabbed Henry Hubbard Jr.’s flashlight he left behind, which turned out to be a police-issued flashlight. This ended up being a key piece of evidence that sentenced Henry Hubbard Jr. to 56 years in prison. This led to Charisma Carpenter hosting a show called Surviving Evil later in her career.

Charisma Carpenter falls into acting

Although Charisma Carpenter originally wanted to get into show business but had second thoughts after working to go to college, she ended up falling back into the entertainment industry. While she worked as a waitress in Los Angeles, California, she was found by a commercial agent who told her that she needed to pursue showbiz once again. She had a look, and it would be a waste not to use it – and he was fucking right!

Feeling like she should give the whole acting thing another chance (and because she had survived a death encounter earlier), she tried it out once again at Playhouse West. This famous acting school allowed her to flourish, and she endeared one and a half years of grueling training. While training here, she made a living starring in over 20 commercials and various theatrical productions. Grinding for years, she finally got her big fucking break.

Charisma Carpenter’s big break

Like many ravaging young American women of the 90s, Charisma Carpenter got her big break on the TV show Baywatch. She starred in an episode there, gaining the eyeballs of other big-name producers. That led to her getting cast on Malibu Shores: a teen soap opera about the beaches of Malibu. Many television series focused on beach bullshit around this time, so it was easily forgettable and quickly cancelled!

But it wasn’t a big fucking deal! In 1996, immediately auditioned for the role of Buffy in the upcoming series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She didn’t get the part, but instead was given the role of Cordelia Chase – by far her biggest role to date. She was a titular character in the first few seasons of the show, but she written off to star in the show’s spinoff, Angel.

On the show Angel, Charisma Carpenter had an even bigger role than she had on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She was the co-star of the entire series, and she remained there for another four seasons, returning for the show’s final episode in 2004. That’s pretty fucking good for someone who, just a few years prior, wasn’t sure if the whole acting thing was a good career move for her!

Charisma Carpenter hits her television stride

Charisma Carpenter became a hallmark of the WB channel around the late 90s and early-to-mid-2000s. That was a big fucking deal back then, too, as the WB channel had a variety of unique TV shows you couldn’t find anywhere else on American television. It was almost a counter-culture kind of channel, especially for teens and young adults.

So it’s no surprise that once Angel wrapped up, she guest-starred on the WB’s other hit show, Charmed. She then jumped to network competitor UPN to star as the character Kendall Casablancas on the mystery series Veronica Mars. From there, Charisma Carpenter would go on to star in numerous television appearances and even several films, like the sex comedy What Boys Like.

The 2010s saw her starring as a supporting character in the hit film The Expendables. This propelled her to more unique roles, next starring in the Michael Madsen thriller Human Factor. Around this time, the show Supernatural was fucking popular as hell, and had in a sense taken the mantle that shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel had carried and ran with it.

So, Charisma Carpenter went back to her roots in a way by starring in an episode of Supernatural along with her fellow Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star, James Marsters. From there, she earned a role in the ABC Family series The Lying Game, and returned to her role once again in The Expendables 2. Nowadays, Charisma Carpenter is taking her career a bit easier.

You’ll typically find her in one-off television appearances in shows like Sons of Anarchy, 9-1-1, Lucifer, and others. But even though her career is winding down a bit, that does not change the fact that Charisma Carpenter is a beauty that ages like fine wine. She’s still fucking sexy as hell, and all you gotta do is take one good look at her to see what it is that I’m talking about. Go watch some of her amazing body of work, and take a look at a body that’s as timeless as late 90s cheesy horror television!
