Amanda Schull

If you’ve seen Suits, or if you’ve ever watched the show 12 Monkeys (the newer iteration, not the 90s version) then you’ve definitely seen Amanda Schull’s acting chops in action. She might not be a world-famous actress or have a leading role in a globally famous show that everyone and their grandma knows about (save for Suits), but Amanda has certainly etched herself well into American TV, having had a few memorable roles in some popular US TV shows, namely 12 Monkeys and the all-time classic Suits, which is arguably the show she’s best known for. So, who exactly is Amanda Schull, and where did she come from? Well, simply put, Amanda Schull is an American actress and former professional ballet dancer who was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.

As for her most prominent roles in 12 Monkeys and Suits, I gotta be honest, I never really watched those shows so I can’t really talk about them with passion. Suits didn’t really catch my attention back when it was popular and I’ve never seen the newer iteration of 12 Monkeys because 8 hours of screen time on my PC and my phone is more than enough for a day, so there really isn’t any more time I could squeeze in to let myself watch a TV show unless it’s super short or absolutely amazing. So, all that having been established, if you’re in the market for an Amanda Schill bio that has personality oozing out of every single sentence in it due to the fact that it’s 100% written by a living, breathing human, then by all means, sit back, fix yourself up a snack or beverage and strap in.

Her Role In 2000’s Center Stage Paved The Way For Her Acting Career

Amanda grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii where she attended Punahou School, a prestigious private school that counts notable alumni like Barack Obama. After she graduated high school, Amanda was offered a full scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet School, which is one of the most esteemed ballet academies in the US, and the kind of school that you can only get into if you are either extremely talented at Ballet or if one of your parents happens to be the president of a Ballet School, both of which were the case with Amanda (her mother was the president of “Ballet Hawaii”).

Amanda actually started practicing ballet at a young age due to her mother’s influence, so by the time she finished high school and enrolled at the San Francisco Ballet School, she was already a well-seasoned Ballet dancer. But ballet wasn’t Amanda’s only passion - she studied journalism at Indiana University and even managed to propel herself into an acting career by combining acting with her already well-established talent for ballet. The worlds of ballet and acting collided together for Amanda when she was cast as Jody Sawyer, the lead character in a dance drama film titled Center Stage. This role undoubtedly showcased Amanda’s talents for both acting and ballet to a high degree, and pretty much entrenched her as a dance movie typecast.

Have You Ever Watched The Show Suits?

Like I said, I never really got into suits back when it was popular and I don’t think I’ll be getting into it now. I remember a lot of people having quotes from that show posted on their Facebook covers back in the early 2010s, which led me to think that it was basically just soft office porn for middle-aged women who had a thing for men in suits who always said some really witty shit. I’m sure it’s a great show though. Anyways, Amanda’s character Jody Sawyer Katrina Bennet was introduced to the main cast of Suits in the show’s second season which aired in 2011, and remained as part of the main cast throughout most of the show’s run. By 2011 Amanda had already been acting in TV show roles for about 5 years, so it’s safe to say that she had a firm foothold in the world of TV entertainment as an actress by the time she appeared on Suits.

What About Twelve Monkeys?

Now Twelve Monkeys is a show I could potentially get into even today, and that’s mostly because it’s only 47 episodes compared to Suits’ whopping 134. Plus it’s about people traveling back in time to stop the world from being destroyed by a virus instead of just a team of lawyers being horny and quippy with one another and saying one-liners that middle-aged moms will share on Facebook. And yes, Amanda Schull also starred in Twelve Monkeys - all 47 episodes of it. She played Dr. Cassandra Railly, a virologist who, as was just mentioned, is caught up in a plot that involves people traveling back in time to save the world from succumbing to a deadly virus that wipes out humanity. It sounds like an interesting watch, as all apocalypse and post-apocalyptic shows tend to be, so there is a chance that I might actually give this show a shot.

Her Private Life Is… Private - Amanda Prefers To Keep Her Personal Affairs Out Of The Spotlight

One of the things that most if not all celebrities whether globally famous or TV actors suffer through is invasion of privacy. Most celebs would argue that there are way too many publically-known facts about them, ranging from harmless to downright life-ruining. There’s actually a whole industry that thrives on gathering and publishing private information surrounding celebs, including private photos and footage that celeb magazines that only teens and middle-aged women with no lives read would pay wads of cash for. That same industry is the reason Princess Diana tragically died before her time, as paparazzi were tenaciously chasing the vehicle she was riding in, leading it to crash and catch on fire.

That said, this is why countless celebs have teams of people around them making sure that they’re not being poached on by paparazzi in any way shape, or form, ensuring that their private lives remain private, and this includes Amanda Schull here. For example, there is virtually no publically known information on Amanda’s private life save for the fact that she married a software engineer named George Wilson in 2011 and had a son with him in 2020. Everything that we know about this actress is something that she herself has disclosed in interviews.

Let’s Check Out Her Instagram

Amanda Schull’s quite popular on Instagram - she might not have broken the 1M following mark but she’s about halfway there with 448k followers, which is certainly nothing to scoff at for a TV actress. Her Instagram posts are usually pictures of her on the red carpet or of her behind the scenes, with some of them being private pictures of her. Some of them also feature her co-workers or her close friends and family. And as far as like counts go, the posts that show her on the red carpet seem to gain the most “hearts,” with most of them having over a whopping 10 thousand likes. Her most-liked post has garnered over an astounding 40 thousand likes, which is about 10% of her whole following count.
