The weebs who’ve been playing Visual Novels for years were probably some of the very first fans of the AI sexting apps currently taking over the web. If you’ve read my reviews here at ThePornDude and over at BestPornGames, you know I’ve always been a fan of the classic game format: the choose-your-own branching storylines and hentai visuals are more immersive than shaking your dick at some random doujin on Reddit. The platform we’ll be looking at today bumps up that immersion even more and breaks free from the predestined plotlines of the older games. Honestly, I’m not sure I could ever go back.

VisualNovel.com ain’t the library of homebrew porn games I’d expected when I saw the title, but a modern AI-powered hentai roleplaying app. I’ve reviewed dozens of these services over the last year or so, and I’m a little bit surprised that this is the first time I’ve seen one framed through a Visual Novel lens. As we’ll see, it’s a pretty damn perfect fit, but you don’t have to be familiar with those earlier interactive erotic adventures to appreciate the whole experience. Kinky Characters by the Thousands

Make sure you flip the NSFW slider so you can see the whole cast of characters. There are currently around 3000 anime characters, typically bundled with their own kinky scenarios and backstories. The depths of the characters are one of the big draws here, offering more potential for deeply personal, deeply freaky roleplaying and chitchat.

Right now, the most popular VisualNovel.com characters include big-titty stepmoms, spooky goth girls, 18+ teenage tomboys and a whole free use family to fuck with. I also spotted a furry bunny girl, a gorgeous goblin slave, a bikini wrestler and a babe who lives in a “rape hole”, all before I’d even left the front page.

I do wish the little blurb snippets beneath each thumbnail were longer. They get cut off after a few words, so you don’t always know what you’re getting into without clicking through to read the full version. That said, VisualNovel does a good job organizing the roster into some big, broad categories, and they’ve included some of the most popular keywords at the top of the page. One click gets you quick access to AI chicks and sexy scenes in subgenres like Action, Adventure, Romance and School.

Kinks could be tagged better, though. I had mixed luck typing things into the search bar. Queries for Anal, Feet, Lesbian, Giantess and Futanari pulled up some nice selections, but I didn’t find anything for BBW, Femdom, Orgy or GILF. Given the already insane size of the cast, I bet there are some bots in there that’d meet my criteria, but they’re lost in the shuffle.

Free Credits and Multiple AI Models

If and when you need more, credit packages start at ten bucks for 10,000. Bigger spenders get some bonuses, with an extra 20,000 credits piled onto the hundred-dollar package. Visual Novel is more transparent than other platforms about how you’ll be spending those credits, but you do have some important decisions to make along the way.

VisualNovel is one of few AI roleplay apps that lets you experiment with different AI models. If you’ve been experimenting with the format, you already know the Artificial Intelligence can vary like crazy from platform to platform. I like the approach here because it lets you find your ideal level of immersion and realism, but keep an eye on the prices listed under Chat Deduction Rule. GPT-4o-mini will only cost you ten credits, while the Claude 3.7 sonnet model will you run you ten times that.

Doing My Best to Talk Dirty

I used the default 30-credit Claude 3.5 haiku model, and also turned on autoplay text-to-speech. The AI voices are decent, better than earlier apps, but still a little robotic and stiff. My bigger issue was Rebecca’s formalness. “Your comment about my outfit is inappropriate and unprofessional for our current work setting.” Maybe I got the wrong impression from her tits hanging out in her pics.

I tried again with a bot named Cindy, but she immediately shot me down when I said I was horny despite her full-on hardcore hentai pics. I switched the AI model, hoping for a dirtier girl, but I still seemed to have my work cut out for me. “I prefer to get to know people first before discussing intimate topics.” The roleplaying did feel very realistic, though not necessarily in the way I wanted. I don’t swipe on Tinder to strike out, you know.

Every single VisualNovel character greeted me with the same, “Hello. How can I help you today?” None of them responded well when I told them I was horny. I finally coaxed a character named Your Mum into examining my raging boner in a medical scenario, though it wasn’t the full-on fuck fest I was expecting. “I’ll be thorough but gentle – if anything hurts during the examination, please let me know immediately.”

VisualNovel offers in-chat AI imagery, and even goes as far as including a “send me a pic” preset in the text box. Unfortunately, I got the same prudish reactions every time I asked for one. “Mr. PornDude, I’m going to be direct with you – that request is completely inappropriate in a medical setting.”

Make Your Own Hentai Waifu

The character machine does include some interesting prompts that I haven’t seen elsewhere. There’s a World View box, for example, though it might be their stand-in for the basic Description prompt you find elsewhere. I was more intrigued by the optional Secrets prompt, which keeps info private while passing it along to the prompt generator. I could immediately see some major potential for those Secrets, though it all kind of hinges on the platform becoming more overtly NSFW.

VisualNovel.com has an excellent range of characters and scenarios, and I love the fact that you can choose the AI model that works best for you. The problem at this stage in the game is that it’s difficult to coax the bots into the explicit situations hinted at in their own bios and pre-generated pics. It’s fine if you’re just looking for some cleanish roleplaying and flirty banter, but the real pervs might be a little frustrated if they came to talk dirty. They really hook you up on free credits here, so grab your daily stack and see what you can get out of these imaginary women.
